USB to RS485 converter device using CH340 chip is used to connect control and monitor smart devices using Modbus standard on RS485 transmission line. Just plug the USB end of the device into the Raspberry Pi, the other end connects to RS485 communication smart devices via twisted pair cable (up to 32 devices). A PC can be used to communicate and collect data from standard Modbus-RTU RS485 smart devices.
